Yeah, I've dealt with it on every diesel I've owned, since I'm almost always buying something with somewhat high mileage. I suppose my Liberty CRD was the exception, but two VW TDIs and two other Mercedes diesels all had it worse than Evonne did. Apparently, there are better ways to do it using a sandblaster-based slurry to remove the stuff. I haven't found the details for that, though.
