Mark, Does removing the swirl valve motor cause a CEL condition? Did you have to do anything to prevent a CEL?

The middle part of this video https://artofdiesel.substack.com/p/driving-evonne-in-modified-condition and the associated writeup are all about the reprogramming that was done. Not only for performance and efficiency, but to ensure that the lack of swirl vanes or EGR wouldn't cause a CEL. Reach out to Tautvydas Lukosevicius at https://ecutuningkaunas.com/ for help on this. OR, many have simply used a 4.7k Ohm resistor so that the ECU still thinks it's present. OR one could also simply disconnect the pushrods, safety-wire the vanes into the open position, and retain the motor.
